Seminar Series – “Editing Unwanted Memories during Sleep” by Professor Xiaoqing Hu

On April 1st, 2025, we had the opportunity to learn from Professor Xiaoqing Hu from the Department of Psychology at the University of Hong Kong about Targeted Memory Reactivation (TMR) and the research at Dr. Hu’s lab.

Dr. Hu’s laboratory research aims to understand how we remember and forget about our past experiences and the neurocognitive processes that support these memory dynamics. In this presentation, Dr. Hu focused on the questions posed by his lab on how to Leverage sleep to manipulate memories, those questions being (1)How does sleep shape different aspects of memory? How can we bias (emotional) memory processing during sleep?

The event concluded with a Q&A session on the research findings presented.

We hope that everyone in attendance enjoyed Professor Xiaoqing Hu’s presentation “Editing Unwanted Memories during Sleep.” We hope to see you at the next seminar which you can find in our Events page.
