Sebastian Moguilner is an Argentine Physicist whose research focuses on brain network impairments during aging and dementia. His work includes developing AI algorithms to classify dementia subtypes using data from low-field MRI scanners, making advanced diagnostics more accessible in resource-limited settings such as in Latin American countries. His work on functional connectivity with the ReDLat consortium led to significant findings regarding increased brain aging in underserved populations. As a postdoctoral research fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, Dr. Moguilner investigates brain functional connectivity alterations across the sleep-wake cycle in Alzheimer’s disease. His research aims to understand brain network impairments during different brain states of consciousness in neurodegeneration, potentially enabling the development of early diagnostic tools and targeted interventions for dementia.
