Benjamin Wipper

Medical Student

Ben is a fourth-year medical student at Harvard Medical School. He graduated from Williams College in 2019 with a degree in biology, and subsequently developed an interest in sleep medicine through work with the Sleep Disorders Clinical Research Program at MGH.

He is pursuing a residency in anesthesiology and is particularly intrigued by the overlap between sleep and perioperative medicine. Together with Dr. Lei Gao and several other collaborators, he is co-writing a review article exploring the potential impact of pre-operative sleep-enhancing interventions in improving post-operative brain health outcomes such as pain and cognition.

Ben is also passionate about teaching and has served as a teaching fellow for a Harvard undergraduate course on sleep as a medical student. Outside of his academic pursuits, he enjoys many outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, and running.
