Dr. Shahab Haghayegh is an Instructor at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He is a Biomedical Engineer with an extensive interdisciplinary background, holding a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering and three master’s degrees in Engineering, Statistics, and Mechanical Engineering. He completed three postdoctoral trainings in digital phenotyping and biostatistics at the Harvard School of Public Health, epidemiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School, and circadian rhythms and dementia at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Additionally, he completed training in sleep, circadian, and respiratory neurobiology at Harvard Medical School. He is also a recipient of the prestigious NIH K99/R00 Pathway to Independence Award.
Dr. Haghayegh’s research lies at the intersection of medicine and data science, primarily focusing on circadian rhythms, sleep, and dementia. He is particularly interested in wearable devices and the advanced analysis of physiological signals, including EEG, ECG, PPG, and motor activity. Leveraging his expertise in biomedical engineering, statistics, and data science, Dr. Haghayegh employs cutting-edge AI and data science methods, combined with sophisticated analytical techniques, to enhance our understanding of complex health challenges and improve early diagnosis of diseases.
